1.1 BUSA
We have decided not to enter a team for the BUSA Climbing competition as we have concluded we do not have sufficient climbers of the standard required.
1.2 SUS competition
We are still planning to enter a team for the Scottish Universities Sports Climbing competition.
1.3 Ice Factor
This is a possibility and it would be good for club development and personal safety. The finance committee might be willing to subsidise it. It’s a good opportunity for people to get into Ice Climbing and if we don’t give people the opportunity to go they will probably go ice climbing anyway and might get hurt. The plan is to organise this for 17/3/07.
1.4 Tiso
Tiso are being slightly awkward about their end of the Sponsorship deal regarding Tech Tees.
1.5 Field and Trek
We have been given the opportunity to have a group discount with Field and Trek. We need new helmets and Ice axes for the gear store and are currently reluctant to give Tiso are custom so we will order from them.
1.6 AGM
This will be held in T9 on 21/03/07 at 7:30pm
Vice-President
2.1 Bus Insurance Claims
The bus insurance claim has appeared and it seemed to be rather a lot (but also claimed for a lot of damage not inflicted by the deer). We have informed Enterprise about this and they were astonished that such a thing could have happened. They agree to alter the claim and we have let the insurance company know the situation. They will fight it out toether.
2.2 Meets
Sarah suggested we send out the initial e-mail with information about the meet for the coming weekend slightly earlier in the week as this seems to improve attendance.
Treasurer
3.1 Monetry Situation
The club's current bank balance should be sufficient to cover the remaining costs of the year despite us having not received our pub sponsorship money, provided remaining meet and AD costs are not much higher than expected. Jon will keep monitoring the situation as the remainder of the year progresses.
3.2 Subscriptions
From now until the end of the year it will cost new members £15 to join as they have less time to enjoy the club. We will wait until we think we have all the new members before we send the remaining MCoS affiliations.
Social secretary
4.1 AD
This has been organised for 4-6th May. It is all currently a big mystery but is progressing well. (Hotel and village hall have been booked.)
4.2 Drouthys
Drouthys are being somewhat awkward. Sarah has sent them a long and appropriate letter. We have the sponsorship deal in writing so the next steps are that.
1) Anna from the SU will write a letter.
2) We’ll send all the paperwork to the legal people to have a look over.
Freshers Reps
5.1 Highland 2007 Events
Iain suggested perhaps using one of our vacant Saturday buses to take some members along to some of the Highland 2007 events at the Fort William mountain festival.
Date and time of next meeting: T9 21/03/07 7:30pm
