The possibility of bringing in Mountain Guides to enhance the skills of some of our members was discussed.  The committee will approach Christine Kruikshank in the ISE to enquire about funding prior to assessing interest in the club.  Winter climbing will also be considered.

1.5  Calendars

The design is finished but pictures need sorted and dates need to be added.  The plan is to finish it by late November so that it will hopefully be ready by Christmas.

1.6  New Year Meet

This will be a maximum of 3 nights.  It is not an official DURC meet therefore there will be no club subsidy, but this has the advantage that non members can come along too.  Allan will speak to some bunkhouse people.

President

2.1 Dave MacLeod

Monday 11th December, lecture at 7:30pm in the Tower Extension Lecture Theatre, £5 and £3 concessions.  This will be called “The Hurting” and will be about winter climbing.  The title is a reference to Dave’s ascent of “The Hurting” which is in the Cairngorms.  Dave is an honorary VP, he is an extremely inspirational person and talks about climbing at a “normal” level.

2.2 Abertay Students

Discussion was held re asking Abertay uni to subsidise the club because some of our members come from there.  It was felt that too few members belong to the uni for this to be viable.

2.3 Enterprise

There have been issues regarding overcharging for buses which have been cancelled but these have been rectified.  In the future all cancellations will be done both by phone and e-mail to David Nicoll (Enterprise Manager) and Nicci Rymer (Sports Union) to avoid confusion.
