1.President’s report

1.1 Applied to Sports Union for Grant.

2.    After conversations with the sports union a proposal by the SU to initiate a mandatory £30.00 joining fee separate to the club membership fee has been scrapped.  The fee was regarded as a threat to new and existing membership.  The cost incurred would contribute to facilities which would not benefit Rucksack as a non-competitive club. Payment of the fee will be the choice of each individual member on the grounds of their use of University sports facilities.

3.    Two successful official club meets went ahead over the summer, to the caving club hut in Elphin 3rd -5th June and Achmelvich 24th-26th June.

     4.    Signatories for the Sally fund still to be changed. New proposed signatories: Dave Manson, Caroline Shrubsole and Katherine Fishwick to take over from Lena, Jenny and Sarah Bardsley.

     5.    2004/05 T-shirts have all been distributed and payment to the printers has been made. Payment for two shirts is still outstanding.

6.    Candidates for honorary committee positions have been selected and will be contacted over the forthcoming week.
